David Musnick MD is a master clinician and diagnostician in both Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Functional Medicine. He is board Certified in Sports Medicine and Internal Medicine. Dr. Musnick has 33 years in Sports Medicine and Internal Medicine and 26 years in Functional Medicine. He has developed his own unique approach to assessment and treatment and has seen countless cases over the years. Dr. Musnick's work is published in numerous books and has spoken locally and nationally on numerous conditions especially Osteoarthritis and Concussion. He is Certified in Functional Medicine and was one of the original teachers of Functional Medicine. Originally from the Boston area, David Musnick spent 33 years of his career in the Seattle area before moving to Idaho in January 2022. He enjoys hiking, mountain biking, skiing, kayaking and pickleball. He considers every factor that may be involved and determines every involved tissue, joint, ligament, tendon, muscle, nerve and all other structures. • The providers at FMI Center for Optimal Health are out-of-network with insurance companies, so charges for their professional time are due at the time of service. Your visits with Dr. Musnick could be 20-30 minutes for follow-up visits or longer for procedures or new consultations. You can get a good faith estimate (GFE) of cost for any visit.
• You can pay with a check, Debit, CC or HSA card
• You can use your insurance card if Dr. Musnick refers you for labs, imaging, or referrals to specialists. Labs and imaging centers will bill your insurance.
• We can provide you a coding sheet that you can send to your insurance company to request a check for out-of-network reimbursement.

Typically, insurance providers do not adequately compensate Dr. Musnick for both his time and expertise. Visit Costs
You will be given a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for any upcoming visit or procedure.

Private Insurance & Out of Network Reimbursement
If you have private insurance you will be responsible for payment at the time of your visit with a check, credit card, HAS card or cash. If you have private health insurance you may be able to get a percent of the cost of the office visit reimbursed by your insurance company. We will provide you with the necessary forms for you to submit to your insurance to receive a reimbursement according to your out-of-network benefits. All insurance companies have policies regarding seeing doctors that are not participating in their network. They may reimburse a percentage of the cost of that visit, but the percentage of reimbursement varies between insurance companies. Reimbursement is related to how much they think a visit should cost as well as how much of a deductible you have. We advise you to talk to your insurance company to find out more information on how much or what percentage they are likely to reimburse based on the expected procedure codes.
